How is Roster Verification Used?

Provides PVAAS teacher-specific reporting based on accurate data for use in:

  • Teacher Self-Reflection
  • Act 13 Teacher-Specific PVAAS Growth
  • Act 13 Teacher-Specific Achievement (%Proficient/Advanced)

Submission to PVAAS indicates that any, and all, disputes related to an individual educator’s roster data have been resolved prior to submission.

Participation in RV

  • Employers are responsible for bringing educators through the process of RV (IUs, LEAs/Districts, CTCs)

  • Educators who have any responsibility for instruction and planning in a state-tested subject (PSSAs, Keystones) verify rosters

  • District & School Admins can make changes to pre-populated staff, students, and rosters beginning April 18 (Preview phase)

Why Human Capital Retention Dashboard?

To aid in staffing decisions

Assess staff recruitment and retention patterns

  • Which programs show stable staffing trends, and which have high turnover? Do these correlate to any increases or declines in student growth?

  • How does this data inform hiring processes? Do principals or LEA/district personnel need more help finding and keeping strong teachers on board?

Why Human Capital Retention Dashboard?

To aid in staffing decisions

Leverage strengths to support educators

  • Which educators might be strong candidates to serve as mentors? Which educators might benefit from targeted support and professional learning?

  • Is local capacity evident in the form of educators with high growth to help create resources, such as pacing guides and lesson plans that can be used across the LEA?

Why Human Capital Retention Dashboard?

To aid in staffing decisions

Discover trends in staff data based on student growth

  • Are teachers showing high student growth being retained? If not, why? What strategies can be used to retain them?

  • Are teachers showing low student growth being retained? If so, how can they best be supported in their professional practices?

Connect to Your Job-Alike Groups!

As you think about staffing & retention for 2024-2025,

think about your system’s trends…

  • Do growth trends improve if teachers stay in the same subject/ grade for two years?
  • Do teachers new to the subject/ grade have similar growth trends to staff retained in the same position?
  • What are the growth trends of teachers who exited the subject/ grade?
  • Are we replacing those who exited the subject/grade with teachers showing the same growth trends?

Then, Expand the Conversation

As you think about professional learning for 2024-2025,

think about your system’s trends…

Do needs vary by department?

Do needs vary by experience in a grade/subject?

Are there teacher leaders who may help support the learning and growth of others?
