Chair – Core Role

  • In charge of the Committee and direction of the Club
  • Regularly in contact with all other committee members
  • Delegates duties as necessary
  • Only person who can sign off Treasurer’s remittance from the SU (e.g. Fuel refund etc.)
  • Contact Point with the SU

Treasurer – Core Role

  • Responsible for the finances of the Club
  • Keeps track of all incomings and outgoings
  • Signs majority of finance forms for the SU
  • Sets up online products
  • Assists the Chair in running the Club

Kart Captain

  • Primary Contact with the British University Karting Championship, participation in BUKC is preferred.
    • Books teams and selects drivers
    • Arranges Payments (with Treasurer)
    • Arranges Transport
  • With significant committee assistance, supports organisation of Social Karting Events

General Committee Role

  • This is a new initiative from the SU, for next year
  • General roles are designed to be flexible, and have tasks and responsibilities assigned by the committee they are on
  • Motorsports will have 4 of these roles for next year open.
  • Great opportunity to get involved with:
    • Social Media
    • Event Organisation
    • SU Communication
    • Other projects (merch, collaborations etc)

Other Information

  • All roles described here are guides, they will change to some extent depending on the wishes of the Chair, Committee and needs of the club
  • The Committee tends to be flexible with responsibility shared, and will be even more so this year
  • Meetings fortnightly (normally), but down to committee
  • Feel free to apply for multiple roles if you can’t decide what is best for you

How?

Upload a manifesto on the SU website (thesubath.com/elections/) and engage members via the Facebook group or WhatsApp

When?

Committee nominations are open now and close at 23:59 this Saturday (14th March). Online voting takes place the following week.
