✅ Learn how we can use sunlight in real life!

What Do We Need?

MT-912 Light Meter 📟 (to measure sunlight)

A solar garden light 💡 (like one from Walmart!)

Screwdriver or nail filer 🔧

Small fan or motor

Wires 🧵

A battery 🔋

LEDs and breadboard (for more lights!)

Step 1 – Measure the Sunlight

  • Use a light meter to check how bright the sunlight is.
  • It shows numbers in “lux” – that tells us how strong the light is!
  • Try checking it under sunlight, partially shaded, and fully shaded.

Step 2 – Charge the Solar Light

  • Put the solar light outside in the sun for 2-5 minutes.
  • It has a small solar panel on top – it collects sunlight!
  • When it’s dark, it automatically turns on! 🌙✨
  • Make sure you remove the green paper inside. (This enables circuit completion).

What’s Happening Inside?

  • Inside the solar light is a tiny battery.
  • The solar panel charges the battery using sunlight.
  • At night, the battery powers the LED light.

Step 3 – Time to Play with the Solar Light!!

  • Open the solar light and separate the black head from rest of the body.
  • Unscrew the two screws inside the black head.
  • Take out the little solar-charged battery.

Step 4 – Run the Fan using the Battery!!

🎉 It spins! That’s solar energy turning into motion energy!

Try a Stronger Battery

  • Now, try a Duracell 1.5V battery.
  • What happens? The fan spins faster!
  • This shows how voltage affects speed.

Make It Bigger (Bonus!)

  • Use a bigger battery and a breadboard.
  • Connect more lights (LEDs).
  • Now you're making your own solar-powered system!
  • Store more energy = Power more things!

What Did We Learn?

  • Sunlight can be turned into electricity
  • We can store that energy in a battery
  • That energy can power a fan or lights
  • It’s clean, free, and renewable! 🌱
