The Week in Review

This was a busy, fun filled week n the 4th grade! In math, we began our geometry unit focusing on understanding different geometric terms to build a solid foundation for our last unit. In reading, students selected a subtopic about the events leading up to the American Revolution to research. Students worked on their informational reading skills as well as their note taking abilities. In science, we laid a strong foundation for pair programming, a coding strategy where students will work with a partner to write better codes. We are looking forward to next week!

Looking Ahead to

Next Week

Next week, we have great learning planned! In math, we will take an in depth look at angles. In reading, students will synthesize their information about their American Revolution subtopic to create a presentation of their findings. In writing, students will begin drafting their second informational masterpiece on the topic of their choice. In science, we will continue designing and coding a program using the application Scratch.

Happy Mother’s Day! We hope you have a wonderful, relaxing day with your family!

ABC Countdown Continues

Our ABC countdown to the end of the year continues with fun celebrations each day! Checkout the calendar of events to remind your child each day. We look forward to continue sharing in the fun with students each day.

ALICE Drill

This week, every classroom held an ALICE drill to practice how we would respond to a dangerous situation. We reviewed the steps of ALICE and practiced locking down, barricading the room, and preparing to counter. We discussed what went well in our drill and what we might do differently in a potentially dangerous situation.

Student of the Week

Each week, one student from each classroom will be chosen by his/her classmates for following our mission and being a classroom leader! This week’s leaders are featured below. Congratulations Layla and Kaileigh!
