Google Classroom

  • Homework assigned daily M-F. The Google Classroom stream will be updated daily listing the current homework assignment.
  • A copy of the unit 1 book is posted as a downloadable file in the “Classwork” section of the Google Classroom so that pages can be printed at home if necessary.
  • A copy of the daily class notes are posted on the “Stream” each day in Google Classroom
    • When students are absent, it is their responsibility to copy the notes from Google Classroom and complete the homework assignment.

Multiplication Facts, Word Problems, IXL

  • It is so important for students to MEMORIZE the multiplication facts.
    • Reflex to the green light 5 times per week
    • Multiplication & division facts drills
  • Word problems will be incorporated into most lessons, homework assignments, quizzes, and tests.
  • IXL to be used for additional practice

Grading

  • Homework - complete, neat, on time, all work shown, try your personal best
  • Quizzes and tests
    • Will be announced ahead of time
    • In class and at home review assignments
    • No retakes
  • Checkpoint assignments
  • Grades will be posted on Parent Portal
  • Progress reports and report cards

Accelerated Math in 7th Grade

  • Two years of math in one year (7th and 8th grade math both taught in 7th grade)
    • Pace is fast
    • Students take Algebra 1 Regents Exam in 8th grade
  • Placement will be determined at the end of 6th grade and it is based on a variety of things such as:
    • NWEA, IXL Snapshot score, Lexile level, and Common Assessment scores
