Little Chintoo lived in a crowded city. There were many buildings, tall

and short. Many vehicles, light and heavy like cars,scooters, cycles,trucks

and buses moved along the streets the whole day long. There were very

few trees and lots of dust and smoke in the air.People had to visit the

doctor very often because of cough, cold and headaches.Poor little

Chintoo also had fever today.So mummy took him to the doctor.

At the doctor’s clinic…

Breathe fresh air

Play in the open air

Drink pure water

Eat healthy food

Take rest and sleep well.

A visit to grandfather’s house in

the village will be the best.

Little Chintoo, this cold and cough is due to pollution in the air.Pollution means the air becomes dirty because of smoke from factories and exhaust from vehicles on the road.We find it difficult to breathe,we get headaches and feel terribly sick.

At grandfather’s place…

Here,I shall make some medicines using

different parts of trees,roots, and herbs that

you would find only deep in the jungles or

on mountain slopes.They will make you

feel better soon.

At the sanctuary with the forest officer…

A little seed for me to sow

A little earth to make it grow

A little hole a little pat

A little wish and that is that

A little sun a little shower

A little while and then a flower
