LastPass is a password protection service that can simplify and secure how end users manage their passwords across different platforms and for multiple applications without having to remember them.

U-M offers other password management solutions for elevated accounts for both ITS and Unit IT Staff but not for individual passwords for U-M faculty, staff, and students. LastPass is that solution. Our goal is to spread awareness of the benefits of using LastPass to protect their passwords.

Problem

  • Using weak passwords or reusing passwords across multiple platforms is a security risk that leaves end users vulnerable to hacking. Using a password manager such as LastPass can reduce this risk.
