Why is mentorship so important?

• Mentorship fosters professional and personal development for both mentor and mentee.
• Mentorship enhances female leadership pipeline and empowers women.
• Most successful surgeons have had strong mentors in their career.

How it works...

STEP 1: We enlist female (and male) surgeons from around the world who are passionate about their profession and enthusiastic to mentor other young women! Sign up as a mentor here.

STEP 2: Prospective mentees can apply for a mentorship match. We will get information about age, location, education background, surgical interests, and what they are looking for in a mentor e.g. career development, research ideas, learning more, etc. Sign up as a mentee here!

STEP 3: Mentor-Mentee relationships are thoroughly evaluated by our team and partners are MATCHED!

What next?

• After mentor-mentee partners are matched, we facilitate an introduction.
• We suggest meeting at two week intervals to start.
• We can also send you potential topic ideas to talk about!

• Remember, these relationships take time and effort, but can have the potential to enrich careers and build connections that can last a lifetime!
• We will follow up periodically to assess how the partnership is going and if there are any issues to address. We need feedback!
• Mentees or mentors can also request additional partners if needed.
