The flood in Kameno and Biser

The floods in the municipalities of Burgas and Kameno, which killed five people, occurred on the night of October 24th against October 25^th 2017, when seven small dams in the area tore their dams and three settlements in the municipality of Kameno and two in the municipality of Burgas sank.

In 24 hours, large quantities of precipitation were poured in �Burgas region, which in some �places reached and exceeded �100 liters per square meter

State services tried to control the situation by evacuating more than 400 people. Hundreds of houses �and yards have been flooded.

Defeats on the road infrastructure blocked part of the settlements in the municipalities of Burgas and Kameno. The population in Burgas was left without electricity for hours.

The flood in Biser

• On 6^th of February 2012 the wall of dam ,,Ivanovo” broke and several meter wave flooded the village of Biser witch is located around 10 kilometers down the course of the river Biserka flowing out of the dam.

• The flood took the life of 10 people , destroyed dozens of houses and a lot of pets drowned helplessly

• The whole scene destroyed the lives of many people
• 11 years later from charity and people help most of the houses are restored but there are still people witch are still not compensated for the loss of their homes.
• The people of the village will live with the trauma for the rest of their lives…

Forest fires are one of the worst natural disasters for the environment. They are often uncontrollable, starting in wild and remote areas. Last year, more than 5,000 decares of forests were burned in Stara Planina.
