What does Google Classroom do?

  • Gives students a place to see the assignment of the day for that class
  • Gives teachers a place to make announcements
  • Gives students and teachers a place to communicate virtually about an assignment, lesson or question

Getting Started

Your child has a Google for Education account that will allow him/her to access Google Classroom, Google Mail, Google Docs, Google Meet, and more!

Username: First.Last

Password: UP******

That is First Name.Last Name, then UP plus their student number that they needed to get onto the chromebook.

Example Username: Malik.Jones

Example Password: UP121555

If you are on your child’s chromebook, he/she will automatically be signed in and you can skip steps 3-5

Google Meet

Great place to “Facetime” with teachers via the school accounts. You will need to set up a meeting time in advance via email.

Important: There are no new assignments from now until March 29th. The PA Department of Education has not given schools permission to start virtual instruction at this time.

Please use the next two weeks to submit make-up work on the Google Classroom. Email your teacher if you are unsure how to submit an assignment.

Here are some places to go for enrichment work. If there is an option to use Google to sign in, log in that way. (See the Google Classroom page for each teacher for specific prescriptions for enrichment.)
