Hardware

  • Video Board
    • Daktronics - 6ft. by 10 ft. video board
    • Comparable to video boards in CenturyLink Center, Devaney Center and Heartland Events Center
  • Each student has an 11-inch Macbook Air
  • A lab of iMacs is available to our students
  • Filming equipment includes:
    • Several Sony and Canon HD video cameras and iPads
    • Green Screen
    • Lights and portable mics
  • Drone for aerial filming - belongs to our Ag program
    • AGCO Solo Edition 1

Brand and Promote Our School

  • Striv
    • Students will broadcast and announce our home activities
    • Students will use our own graphics, commercials and other promotional materials for our school
  • Daktronics Video Board
    • Student-created videos, advertisements and other promotional materials are shown during games
    • Students run the video board and music during home events
  • Social Media
    • Patrons can see their tweets on the video board during games
    • Periscope is used for pre and post game interviews
    • We post our content to Youtube, Facebook, and Twitter

Digital Media Class

  • Teams are assigned a slate of games before the season starts
    • Each team will have 2-4 games per season
    • The team will create all content and execute the game on Striv and the video board
  • Grading is based on meeting deadlines and content rubrics
    • Deadlines are important - there is no late work in this class - work is either done or not
    • Rubric point values are adjusted based on the type of content being created
      • They are graded on pre-production, skills used, creativity, content and time management

  • Turning in work
    • A network drive is used to store all content
    • Finished content is placed in the finished folder for each game
    • Then it will be graded and converted to the proper format for Striv and the video board

Digital Media Production Teams

  • Multiple teams in our class - at least 3-4
    • Composed of members of Digital Media and Graphics 3
  • Students interview for particular jobs
    • Director - team leader responsible for all content used in team productions
    • Videographer/Photographer - responsible for all media being used in team productions
    • Editor - responsible for editing footage and creating content for team productions
    • Analyst - responsible for researching all data/statistics used in team productions
    • Graphic Artist - responsible for all graphic content used in team productions
    • Striv Team - responsible for filming/broadcasting, commentary and video board during team productions
  • 1 team will produce and execute an entire game on Striv and our video board
  • Jobs can change during the school year - up to teacher discretion
