Almost all those interviewed from ELT recognized that medical overuse is a pervasive problem at CCDHB, justifying the need to a programme like choosing wisely and providing support for this as a concept.
It was recognized that there is limited awareness of choosing wisely at CCDHB. This included among executive leadership team member and among staff members. Many interviewees believed choosing wisely had not come into the view of ELT and was not discussed at meetings. Here it is important to note that 2 interviewees from ELT had been unaware of the choosing wisely steering group at CCDHB before they were approached for the interviews, however, supported the development of the group and wished to learn more about it.
In response to the limited awareness that was recognized, interviewees addressed the current communication strategy and believed this was not currently sufficient.
This has a significant impact on the visibility of the choosing wisely group and its projects.

A Common issue that was recognized was resourcing of the steering group. Many believed that this is not adequate enough of provide for the demands of the group and to enable development of the programme
Interviewees recognized that choosing wisely is set apart from the other hospital imitative due to its cross discipline involvement and being clinician led.

- Interviewees believe that choosing wisely is sustainable in the long-term due to its international roots, its inherent good nature and its potential ability to promote meaningful clinical change.

Despite the results I have presented from the survey and the interviews, I would like to reiterate that there was good overall support for Choosing wisely as a concept and for a choosing wisely programme at CCDHB. However, the nature of the study encouraged critical and constructive feedback on the programme.
