Research questions to start thinking about:

  1. A brief description of where the god/goddess is from and where they can usually be found (where do they spend the majority of their time in the myths)?
  2. What does your god/goddess represent? (Most all of them have at least a few different representations)
  3. According to the myths, what is your god/goddess the most notorious for?
  4. Who are your god/goddess’ relatives? (parents, siblings, which deity or deities do they love)
  5. What sort of weapon does your god/goddess harness?
  6. What are your god/goddess’ significant actions? Crimes? Triumphs? Failures?
  7. Who or what are your god/goddesses known associates? (i.e. who do they spend time with)
  8. What symbols represent your god/goddess? Why?
  9. What characteristics are your god/goddess recognized for?

Deity One Pager

  • Title the One-Pager appropriately to reflect the content
  • Be purposeful about the arrangement of your One-Pager. For example, have a reason for using a certain color or for placing an object in a certain place
  • Write two quotations from your research that relate to what you discovered about your god/goddess.
  • Use three visual images either drawn or cut from magazines to create a central focus to your page. If you use a computer image, personalize it to make it your own
  • Write your overall understanding of your god/goddess
  • Place five essential phrases relating to what you learned. These phrases should express main ideas, impressions, feelings or thoughts about your search
  • Write two Costa’s Level 2 questions and two Costa’s Level 3 questions relating to what someone might not understand about your god/goddess
  • Put a symbolic colored border around the edges of the page
