Kingdoms

III) All Domains are classified into 6 groups called

Kingdoms

10 of 28

A) Archaebacteria Kingdom (Ancient Bacteria)

11 of 28

A) Eubacteria Kingdom (New Bacteria)

12 of 28

A) Protists Kingdom (Algae)

A) Fungi Kingdom (Mushrooms)

A) Plant Kingdom (Flowers)

A) Animal Kingdom (Dogs)

IV)Each Kingdom is broken into a Phylum

Organisms in the same Phylum are more similar then ones in another Phyla

Ex) cat, fish, snake, in the same phyla because they have a backbone. Moth is in a different phyla because they do not have backbones.

V) Phyla are broken into Classes

Organisms in the same class are more similar than organisms in different class

EX) A snake and fish are more similar because they are cold blooded. A cat is in a different class because they are warm blooded.

VI) Classes are divided into Orders

EX) Fish use gills, snakes use lungs = different orders

2 fish would be in the same order

22 of 28

VII) Each order is divided into Families

EX) Fish living in ocean, Fish living in pond = different family

23 of 28

VIII) Each family is divided into Genuses

EX) Shark has sharp teeth, Flounder has dull teeth = different Genus

IX) Each genus is split into species.

EX) Great White shark, Whale shark = different

species
