Ongoing admission with many cohorts–can then go on to mobility track for RN
The Surgical Technologist is an integral member of the surgical team. Surgical technologists, also called scrub techs, assist in surgical procedures under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel. During surgery, surgical technologists pass instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons and surgeon assistants. They count sponges, needles, instruments and supplies; cut sutures and hold retractors during a surgical procedure. They also use sponges and suction devices to contain blood and body fluids during a surgical procedure. Surgical technologists help prepare, care for, and dispose of specimens taken for laboratory analysis and help apply dressings. Some perform functions related to cleaning and sterilizing instruments used in surgery and some help operate diagnostic equipment.
Duties include:

assist in surgical procedures as member of the OR team

prepare OR, set up sterile field

gather equipment and ensure it’s working properly

pass instruments and supplies to surgeon

Veterinary Technology

A vet tech is an important member of the veterinary care team. Some areas of responsibility for vet techs include general animal care, surgical assistance, medical treatments, laboratory tests, and X-rays.
A veterinarian technician may function as an anesthetist, a nutritional counselor, laboratory technician, and a grief counselor. The work of a vet tech varies with the type of practice.

In a small facility, the technician will usually be involved in all aspects of patient care and at least some office management.
In larger practices and in institutions, the technician may become specialized in some area of practice such as surgery or intensive care

An important requirement for Vet Tech student is a Rabies Vaccination. The American Veterinary Medical Association requires a Pre-Exposure Rabies Vaccination for all Veterinary Students. The cost can range from a $10 Co-pay (depending on your insurance) to around $500 PER DOSE. Two doses are required, 7 days apart from one another.

Immunization Information

If you had your immunizations in another country or your records have been lost, you can get a blood test to confirm appropriate levels of antibody in your system. Go to any place that offers blood testing and ask for a “vaccine titer test”. You can even order one online. You will need a separate test for each antibody. Each test could cost between $50-$200.

Varicella and MMR have to be on the same day or 28 days apart

What is a vaccine titer test?�A vaccine titer test is a lab test that measures the concentration of antibodies - a special type of protein made by the immune system - in your blood.

Why is the vaccine blood titer test performed?�A vaccine titer blood test is performed to see if you have an adequate concentration of antibodies in your blood for a specific infection or antigen. People who are studying or working in environments like healthcare facilities are at a higher risk of being exposed to a variety of different infections as they pursue activities related to patient care. Because of this elevated risk, most organizations are required to make sure that people entering their facilities have adequate immunity to common infections like Hepatitis B, MMR and Varicella.

What is the process for getting a vaccine titer test?�Getting a titer test near you at an affiliated lab is a relatively straightforward process. After you order online, you will need to go to your selected lab location to get your blood drawn (please follow the instructions provided with your order). At the lab, the phlebotomist will draw a small amount of blood from your veins and the antibody levels in the sample will be measured using the lab's equipment. Once the titer analysis is complete, a lab report will be generated, and you will be notified when it is available.
