Advanced Studies Academy

  • The Advanced Studies Academy (ASA) is a four-year cohort that will allow students to take college courses during their first period, regular day at FTHS.
  • If all courses in the four-year academy are completed, a student in the ASA will have completed 30 transferable college credits (UC/CSU), or the equivalent of their freshman year in college.
  • The courses in the ASA are aligned with the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) Certification Plan and were chosen to align with student ability by grade level.
  • Students who request to join the ASA during FTHS registration will be selected based on a lottery system. Students enrolled in AVID 9 at FTHS will have guaranteed acceptance into the ASA.
  • Many courses in the ASA four-year cohort grant credit for both VUSD high school graduation AND college credit.
