Overview
The Athletic Training I course provides students with an opportunity to explore the professional well as gain insight into other health care professions. Students will explore lower body anatomy paired with appropriate use of vocabulary and specific field language. The course will provide opportunities for students to learn about common athletic related injuries and the process of assessment and treatment in the classroom setting. Students will learn content knowledge and apply skills and techniques related to the lower body including items such as special testing of joints, taping strategies, and use of protective equipment. There is also a required component in which students are able to observe and communicate with the district’s athletic trainers for hands on learning experiences.
