How to navigate to, download and submit myITLab Assignments

The “Sign in” Page…

Enter the following address as below, in your browser to arrive at the mylabsPlus Sign in” page…

www.unisa.ac.za.mylabsplus.com

Signing into your account…

  • Enter your prescribed “Username” i.e. Student number and your prescribed “Password”… (N.B. This is NOT your myUNISA, nor is it your myLIFE password!)

Once logged in…

  • You will see the section you belong to as shown below… EUP1501 Sem 1 2016 S??
  • If you are a repeating Student ensure you click on the current Semester link.

What’s New?...

  • You may browse thru the Icons or click on “ Don’t show again..” if you prefer, and then click “Close”

Arriving at “Assignment Calendar”…

  • Click on “Assignment Calendar” to open the sub-menu
  • Click on “To Do/Completed” (Will turn to a red highlighted bar)
  • Then click on the “To Do” box on the right to get to your due Assignment/s…

A New Assignment/s Window will pop-up

  • *** Ensure “pop-ups” are enabled in your browser, if not check and allow them in the right hand side, of your address bar of the browser
  • You will arrive at the list of Course materials and due Assignment/s
  • The simplest and less crowded approach is to go to “Course Materials” for your exercise/tutorial resources as below

“View All Course Materials”

  • Click on Assignment 2 Word 2013 to open your learning material…for other Assignment/s (4, 6, 7), click on the corresponding link as on the slide before.
  • *** We advise you perform the Skills Based Training exercises, and view the videos and presentations, before attempting the Grader Project i.e. your Assignment/s

“View all Course Materials” and “My Course”…

  • The items available are e.g. Word Chapter 1: eText (This is your textbook in the form of an eBook), click on it to navigate to your book (ensure you have Adobe Flash installed correctly and activated)

Your Assignment or “Grader Project

  • As highlighted below is the link to your myITLab Assignment, with a relevant “Due” date,
  • Click on it…

“Activity Alert” pop-up Box…

  • Click on Continue after reading the relevant Message…

(Which describes the number of attempts you may have left from a total of 2 tries)

  • CAUTION: If you wish to submit a 2nd attempt, you should re-download your working/answer file and do your work from scratch.
  • CAUTION: Merely copying & pasting will result in probable problems i.e. Potential Integrity Violation Detected or Plagiarism Issues and/or your grades being revised to 0%.
  • MUST DO: Refer to and read the myUNISA “Plagiarism Announcement”, prior to all myUNISA and myITLab Assignment/s.

“Download Starting Materials”

  • In the new pop-up as below…follow the instructions on the next slide.

How to Download and Upload your Assignment as in the picture above?

  • Click “Download Files”…�Download the first file containing the word “Instructions”.
  • Save your answer file on your PC, without changing the name or properties of the file in any way.
  • Follow the instructions and questions to complete the Assignment.�Once done and saved close the “Download Starting Files” box.
  • Proceed to “Upload Completed” file by browsing to the location of your Assignment on your PC, and select the answer file.
  • Then click “Upload” the file.
  • Finally click on “FINISH: Submit for Grading”.
