Phonics Lesson 4 - Diphthongs
What are diphthongs?
Diphthongs are a type of vowel sound in which the tongue glides from one position to another within a single syllable.
They are considered to be a combination of two vowel sounds. In a diphthong, the sound starts at one vowel and moves toward another vowel within the same syllable.

/ear/ - beer (b/ear)
/air/ - bear (b/air)
/oor/ - door
/o/ - ouch
/ow/ - throw
