Kung fu, or Wushu or Martial Arts, developed in ancient china for self defense.
They practiced self defense, and tumbling because times were dangerous
Originated in Shang and Zhou Dynasty(17th century - 256 BC)
During the Qin dynasty(221-207 BC)
Chinese Kung fu (Gōng fu)
-Chinese Kungfu is based on Chinese philosophy: Taoism and.. NOT KILLING PEOPLE
Taoism was founded by Lao Tzu
Based on harmony with nature: the goals are compassion, humility and moderation
Kung fu helps keep us in harmony
-it uses both brains and brawn
-it is an art, a self defense, an exercise, and a discipline
External Kungfu- train muscle, tendons, and bones
Internal Kungfu- trains the mind, the spirit, and your “qi” (energy)
