Beloved, let us worship God! Let us give praise to God, the one who rides upon the clouds!

Parent to orphans and Protector of widows, God gives the desolate a home and leads the imprisoned into prosperity.

As God led the Israelites through the wilderness and provided for them, we too find our dwelling in God’s goodness and provision.

The Rider in the heavens speaks throughout creation; We gather to listen and ascribe power to God! Awesome is God in the sanctuary of creation! Blessed be God! Amen.

GARDEN BLESSING

Friends in Christ: Today we give thanks to God and we seek God’s blessing upon garden and field, that what is grown there may be a reminder of God’s glory.

A reading from Psalm 104:14-21

16 of 42

14You cause the grass to grow for the cattle, and plants for people to use, to bring forth food from the earth, 15and wine to gladden the human heart, oil to make the face shine, and bread to strengthen the human heart. 16The trees of the LORD are watered abundantly, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted. 17In them the birds build their nests; the stork has its home in the fir trees. 18The high mountains are for the wild goats; the rocks are a refuge for the rabbits. 19You have made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows its time for setting. 20You make darkness, and it is night, when all the animals of the forest come creeping out. 21The young lions roar for their prey, seeking their food from God.

17 of 42

The Lord be with you. And also with you.

Blessed are you, O Lord our god, ruler of the universe. You made the whole earth for your glory; all creation praises you. We lift our voices to join the songs of heaven and earth, of things seen and unseen. You stretched out the heavens like a tent; you divided the day from the night; you appointed times and seasons for work and rest, for tearing down and building up. You blessed your people through all generations and guided them in life and death, in sowing and reaping.

18 of 42

We give you thanks, O God, as we ask blessing on this garden and on those who tend it.

Bless these tools for the working. We give you thanks, O God. Bless the water for the nourishing. We give you thanks, O God. Bless the sun for the shining. We give you thanks, O God. Bless the soil for providing. We give you thanks, O God.

19 of 42

God of creation, you spoke life into the world and called all the universe good. Then you turned this good earth over to us for our care. Bless those who care and nurture this piece of your earth. May this our work be a reflection of your good work in us. We ask this through your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

*The Great Thanksgiving

Page 36

The Lord be with you.

And also with you.

24 of 42

Lift up your hearts.

We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

It is right to give our thanks and praise.

25 of 42

It is indeed right, our duty and our joy, that we should at all times and in all places give thanks and praise to you, almighty and merciful God, for the glorious resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ, the true Paschal Lamb who gave himself to take away our sin, who in dying has destroyed death, and in rising has brought us to eternal life. And so, with Mary Magdalene and Peter and all the witnesses of the resurrection, with earth and sea and all their creatures, and with the angels and archangels, cherubim and seraphim, we praise your name and join their unending hymn:

26 of 42

*Holy, Holy, Holy” pg 153

Holy, holy, holy Lord,

God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory.

27 of 42

Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

Hosanna in the highest.

28 of 42

*Thanksgiving at the Table

Blessed are you, O God of the universe. Your mercy is everlasting and your faithfulness endures from age to age.

Praise to you for creating the heavens and the earth. Praise to you for saving the earth from the waters of the flood. Praise to you for bringing the Israelites safely through the sea. Praise to you for leading your people through the wilderness to the land of milk and honey. Praise to you for the words and deeds of Jesus, your anointed one. Praise to you for the death and resurrection of Christ. Praise to you for your Spirit poured out on all nations.

29 of 42

In the night in which he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, and gave thanks; broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: take and eat; this is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.

Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink, saying: This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me.

30 of 42

With this bread and cup we remember our Lord’s passover from death to life as we proclaim the mystery of faith:

Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again.

O God of resurrection and new life: Pour out your Holy Spirit on us and on these gifts of bread and wine. Bless this feast. Grace our table with your presence.

Come, Holy Spirit.

31 of 42

Reveal yourself to us in the breaking of the bread. Raise us up as the body of Christ for the world. Breathe new life into us. Send us forth, burning with justice, peace, and love.

Come, Holy Spirit.

With your holy ones of all times and places, with the earth and all its creatures, with sun and moon and stars, we praise you, O God, blessed and holy Trinity, through whom all glory and honor are yours, almighty Father, with the Holy Spirit, in your holy church, both now and forever. Amen.

and forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation,

For thine is the kingdom

and the power,

and the glory,

forever and ever.

Amen.
