Summer 2024

5th Grade ELA

The BEST thing about summer reading is that there are no school assignments to worry about!

Summer is a great time to read any book you want to read!

Read what you want, when you want!

  • Choose 1 book to read before the start of school.
  • Take some notes as you read.
  • When we return to school, give a 2 minute book talk about why someone should read your book.

WHERE TO READ

  • Another thing that makes summer reading so special is choosing WHERE to read

  • Read near water! Lakes, pools, beaches, even your backyard sprinkler makes it really feel like summer!
  • Get comfy! Make a hammock, build a blanket fort, or read in a lawn chair outside.

  • Read at night! Pitch a tent, unroll your sleeping bag, or just find a flashlight.
