LET’S GET CLEARED!!!
1. I have a monograde Class 4. Do I need to conduct all the activities mentioned in the THB?
No. Teach the common activity and the Class specific activity for 4th STD.
Class specific activity:
Class 4 is coded with ash dot. The prescribed prose, poetry and supplementary come under the class specific activity.
Common Activity:
It is meant to be conducted for all the two classes. These activities focus on introducing and reinforcing vocabulary, grammar
2. I am handling a multigrade classroom with classes 4 and 5.
Now, I am teaching class 4 prose (story) to the students.
Should I engage Class 5 students listen to the story narrated to Class 4?
No. The students of class 5 are assigned exercises to be done in their workbook / textbook. They need to do the workbook / textbook exercises. If they had completed the exercises previous day itself, assign them reading task in their textbook.
Can I teach the workbook exercises without conducting the activities given in THB?
Strictly No. It does not serve the purpose and there is no meaning in doing this. The learning outcome cannot be reached without conducting the activity. The workbook exercises are the extension of THB activity to fulfil the learning outcome.
Which class and level is Rainbow stars activity designed for? When and how should it be done?
Rainbow star activity - all level students
Provided - end of each module.
Class strength - teacher can decide the number of children to talk on a day. Develops speaking skills
Grade level first – then the below grade level
Avoid memorizing
By the end of the year, all students will also find it easier to speak.
I have classes 4 and 5. Should my Malar level children do Arumbu , Mottu and Graded level exercises too?
No. It is enough to do their appropriate level exercises alone (Malar).
I have noticed an exercise in workbook with four coloured dots. Which level student has to complete this exercise?
It is a common exercise meant for all level students.
Is it compulsory to use only the listed activities for FA(a) given in the annexure in THB?
Yes. Only those activities are listed in FA(a) column in the APP for entering the marks for Final consolidation.
How can I make the students memorize the songs and chants given in the THB?
Do we have level - based teaching activities in THB for class 4 and 5?
Is it necessary to narrate the story given in textbook and teach the same again in the THB?
Stories in THB are the simplified version of the story in the textbook. So, it is enough to teach the story given in the THB.

Yesterday, at exactly 7:45 am, Rohan, a bright and curious 10-year-old boy, walked into his classroom, wearing his favorite blue shirt with white stripes and his new black shoes. He carried a shiny red water bottle and a worn-out pencil case containing two pens, one pencil, and a small eraser. His teacher, Mrs. Kumar, greeted him warmly and asked him to take his seat next to his best friend, Aarav.
