หน่วยการเรียนรู้นี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายให้นักเรียนได้รู้จักการวางแผนงาน/อาชีพ ในอนาคต โดยมีแรงจูงใจจากอาชีพของบุคคลที่ตนชื่นชอบ การระบุข้อมูลเฉพาะและรายละเอียดจากบทอ่านเกี่ยวกับอาชีพ และเรื่องราวของโลกยุคเทคโนโลยีล้ำสมัยในอนาคต ทำให้นักเรียนรู้จักคิดวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล พูดและเขียนแสดงความคิดเห็น การแก้ปัญหาในเหตุการณ์เฉพาะหน้า ซึ่งจะเป็นประสบการณ์ให้นักเรียนได้ฝึกคิดเป็นรายบุคคล เป็นคู่และเป็นกลุ่มตามสถานการณ์ โดยมีการฝึกใช้โครงสร้างภาษาที่เหมาะสมมาพูด เขียนนำเสนอความคิด การวางแผนชีวิตที่จะเกิดขึ้นหรือทำนายเหตุการณ์ในอนาคตได้
