How to find your Drive

  1. Go to Google.ca and make sure you are signed in.

NOTE: If you have already opened this presentation, start a new tab then go to Google.ca

2. Click on the Chrome Apps Launcher icon, top right: (or “Waffle” icon)

5. Return to your Drive . Click on “Recent”. Highlight the URL. Now drag it onto your Bookmarks bar. It should look like this:

6. Once your Drive is on your bookmarks bar, right click on it (on the Bookmarks bar) and click “Edit”. Delete the name because the icon is obvious and it will save you space. Click Save. (If the icon doesn’t show up right away, refresh your page.)

How to switch accounts

Many teachers with school Google accounts like to have a personal Google account as well. It is very easy to switch accounts in Chrome.

  1. Go to your Drive (or simply open a new tab) and click on your profile picture.
  2. Click on Add account

3. You will be asked to sign into Google again. Sign in with your other account.

4 . You should now be in your other account. When you want to switch back to the other account again, just click on your profile picture, and then click on your other account.

NOTE for Bookmarks: If you switch accounts like this, only the Bookmarks for the first account will be available. If you want to access your Bookmarks for the additional account, you will need to click on your name above and to the right of the omnibox > Switch person > Add person. What’s cool about this is that the student can see exactly how you want it edited and you don’t have to type a comment. Saves TONS of time! Student then accepts suggestion by clicking on the checkmark, or rejects it by clicking on the X.

Both are powerful tools. I would use Suggesting edits for correcting simple mistakes. I would use Comments to make suggestions or to make a comment. Of course, you can use both in the same document! I would not use Editing because the student won’t be able see their mistakes.
