Members: Adam Hardy, Nevin Foster, Nguyen Minh Triet Huynh | Sponsor: Karan Patil
| Requirements: Simulation should be intuitive and accurate to real construction sites.
Results
Future Work: Improved graphics/animations/models/textures, and realism. New scenes for full pipeline construction workflow. More hazards and animations for more options and more complete gameplay. Smoother gameplay and auto user data capture systems.
Stylized Scene: Shack Assembly Scene with motion capture, worker audio, hazards, and user tools
Prototype Scene: Pipeline Scene. Foundation of initial development, and proof of concept and gameplay
Models and Ambient Animations: Background activity
Hazards and Interaction: Fully animated safety accidents, and user objects (Tablet, Radio, Foreman)
Full Body Motion Capture: Animated workers, realistic reactions, NPC dialogues, and accurate workflows
Description: Development of a construction safety simulator in Virtual Reality utilizing immersion technologies and haptic feedback. Training in a Virtual Reality environment not only cuts costs but allows us to control entire environments. By simulating gruesome and mortifying accidents due to user oversites in safety, we plan to re-enforce protocols and re-envision the importance put on hazard recognition.
