Course purpose:

• Define the concept of minimally invasive techology, advantages and imperfection of minimally invasive procedures;
• To acquaint students with modern minimally invasive diagnostic and treatment methods;
• Identify diagnostic and treatment tactics for common diseases according to progress in minimally invasive medicine

Principles of minimally invasive technologies.

Advantages and imperfection of minimally invasive procedures.

Opportunities to using of minimally invasive technologies.

Modern achievements of world minimally invasive medicine.

TOPIC 2�Minimally invasive technologies in the diagnosis and treatment of the digestive tract disorders:

- the role of endoscopy in the diagnosis of inflammatory and non-inflammatory diseases of the esophagus, stomach and intestines;

- endoscopy in the early diagnosis of malignant neoplasms of the digestive tract;

- possibilities of endoscopic treatment of malignant neoplasms;

- place of endoscopy in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal bleeding;

- practical skills in endoscopy of the digestive tract.

TOPIC 3�Endoscopic facility of diagnosis and treatment of the pancreato-biliary zone disorders.

- endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography;

- endoscopic treatment options for non-neoplastic diseases of the pancreato-biliary zone;

- diagnostic and therapeutic opportunities of bronchoscopy;

- the role of thoracoscopy in the diagnosis of the respiratory system diseases ;

- methods of thoracoscopic surgery;

Endovascular diagnostic and treatment techniques :

- the place of endovascular methods in the diagnosis of heart disease;

- endovascular diagnosis of vascular diseases;

- endovascular treatment of common cardiovascular diseases.

After finishing of the course students should know:

• Opportunities of minimally invasive technologies in diagnosis and treatment of common diseases;
