When it’s time to choose CCP courses…..

    • Make sure you are registering for classes that are listed within the CCP pathway in which you applied
    • CCP course registration is by semester. HHS course registration is by school year. HHS can’t adjust your HHS schedule until you have shared confirmed WTCC course enrollment with HHS.
    • Unless the course is online, you need to give yourself plenty of time to leave campus and arrive to your destination.
    • Prepare to leave HHS immediately at the end of your scheduled HHS courses.

You have a Wake Tech Schedule… now What?

In order to get your Heritage HS schedule adjusted to allow for Wake Tech courses, the student must submit the following 3 items to Ms. Weaver at lweaver2@wcpss.net or hand deliver to her:

  1. A completed WCPSS Dual Enrollment Form
  2. A screenshot of the student's Wake Tech schedule, including course meeting days, times, and location
  3. The HHS course(s) the student wishes to drop and preference for period off campus (1st or 4th, 3rd and 4th, 1st and 4th)

Other Considerations/Information for CCP

-Yes. Students can take classes through CCP during the summer, even graduating seniors!

-Yes. Tuition is free. Textbooks and other materials are NOT free.

-Yes. Most CCP courses are weighted like AP courses on the high school transcript, but NOT all. Consult your counselor/Ms. Weaver for confirmation.

-Yes. As a CCP student, you have access to all of Wake Tech’s academic support services.

-Yes. The outcome of your college course DOES impact your high school GPA and your college GPA.

-Yes. The outcome of your college course DOES impact your high school athletic eligibility and driver’s eligibility.

21 of 25

Other Considerations/Information for CCP

-No. HHS does not have any special access/powers/communication with Wake Tech Staff/Instructors. Students must be able to self-advocate and communicate staff with Wake Tech as needed.

-No. CCP students can’t take any college course they want. Students can only take college courses listed in the pathway(s) in which they applied.

-No. Just because dropping a college course may not impact the college GPA, it does not mean the student’s high school GPA won’t be impacted.

-No. There isn’t any financial assistance for textbooks or transportation.

22 of 25

Other Considerations/Information for CCP

-No. The Wake Tech academic calendar isn’t the same as the WCPSS calendar. If WCPSS cancels school, it doesn’t mean Wake Tech is automatically cancelled.

-No. Infinite Campus and Wake Tech are not connected. While the CCP course may be listed on the schedule in Infinite Campus, only FINAL grades are added to the high school transcript at the end of the WCPSS semester. Disregard any “zeros” or “INC” you may see in Infinite Campus throughout the semester. The “zeros” or “INCs” have NO IMPACT ON GPA.

23 of 25

Other Considerations/Information for CCP

Wake Tech reports letter grades on their official transcripts. WCPSS reports numerical grades. In this scenario, WCPSS utilizes this scale provided by the NC Department of Public Instruction.

A = 95

B = 85

C = 75

D = 65
