Find a picture of the region you are studying

Open a new Google Drawing

Insert your image

Go to the Chrome Web Store

Find and install the Colorzilla extension

  • Under the “Line” tool, select “curve”
  • Start creating shapes by clicking and moving your mouse around parts of your image as you click. We’ll be making layers of different coloured shapes
    • Make sure you make a complete shape by connecting all the lines
  • If you want to have a straight line shape instead of curved line you can choose “Polyline” (for buildings etc.)
  • Once you have your shape press Ctrl/Shift/down to hide the shape at the back
  • Click on the colorzilla extension to get your color match dropper
    • Click on the image color you want to use
  • Press Ctrl/Shift/Up to bring your created shape back
  • Click on the Paint Can icon to change the color
    • Choose “Custom”
    • Copy and paste your Colorzilla hex number

into the text box

  • Click on the Line icon
    • Choose “Transparent”
