Fundraising

Our athletic department operates on athletic fees, advertising, and athletic fundraisers-

  • We have expanded our sports opportunities, increased staff, including an athletic trainer.
  • Teamfunded and Knight Cards are outward facing opportunities for our athletes to help us meet our needs and keep the costs of athletic fees down.
  • Advertising revenue = 43k (Todd Allen)
  • Golf Tournament= 23k (Adam Meyer and Brent McFarling)
  • Little Knights (Kari McKown)

Repeatable methods of raising money. Low strain on our families.

Role of the Parent

Championship teams have

Players that believe in players and coaches

Coaches that believe in players and coaches

Parents that support coaches and players

“No energy vampires” - Jon Gordon

Encourage your child to talk to the coaches on how they can improve

Treat officials the right way

18 of 19

Chain of Command

Assistant Coaches→ Head Coaches→Assistant AD→ Athletic Director—> Headmaster

Post game conversations- Parents should follow the 24 hour rule. Conversations following intense competition is not wise.

Conversations about playing time are at the discretion of the coach.

Utilizing practice time to determine players roles, coaches should be empowered to make the necessary choices to be competitive.

Handling Conflict

  1. Conflict is inevitable
  2. Invite Jesus into conflict
  3. The goal of conflict isn’t to win (1 Peter 2:19-23)
  4. Parent coach conversation (Matthew 18:15)
  5. Parent, coach, and AD (Matthew 18:16)
