What Every Independent School Leader Should Know About Fundraising
With Mira Boucher, ISAP Canada Board Member & TEC Canada Chair
Why fundraise, anyway?More Government $$? Does not cover capital needs or allow you to innovate and respond quickly.More Tuition $$? Can price you out of the market.
A bit about me….
My inspiration:
#1: Traditional ‘fundraising’ can suck sometimes…
…and here’s why:- transactional vs. engaging- lowest return for the time and money vs. high ROI- dilutes or distracts from your mission vs. continuation of your mission
…there is a better way!
#2: WHY fundraising matters.
Philanthropy is an engine that causes dreams to be realized. Your dreams. Your staff’s dreams. Your schools’ dreams. Your STUDENTS’ dreams. Advancement is the process that allows Philanthropy to flow.
#3: You don’t have to re-invent the wheel.
#4: You can start small.
