Succession Planning

There are 4 areas where our needs are the most significant…

  1. Starrett Dinwiddie (Scoutmaster)
  2. Dave Cowen (Assistant Scoutmaster & GOAT Lead)
  3. Kim D. (COHs {3} & Swag Chief)
  4. Need more Assistant Scoutmasters

If no one steps up for these 4 areas, as a Committee, we MUST develop a Succession Plan ASAP

Fall of 2025 Starrett, Kim & Dave will no longer be in these roles

Recharter & Fees Update

  • Big changes this year!
  • Previously:
    • Troop collects annual dues from families in November each year
    • ~ 60% remitted by Troop to BSA as part of annual Recharter process
    • ~ 40% remains to fund the running of the Troop
  • New this year:
    • Scouts BSA will collect membership fees DIRECT FROM YOU the families
    • The Troop will continue to invoice annual dues, but for a lesser amount.
    • More complexity for YOU … you will be interacting with Scouts BSA directly, possibly for the first time.
  • You will most likely not enjoy this process.

How will this work?

  • Your scout will have a RENEWAL DATE
    • If they joined scouting in the past 12 months it will be the anniversary date of their application
    • Otherwise 31st December.
  • You must renew your scouts annual membership (and pay $155) by this renewal date.
  • You will receive an email approx 60 days prior to renewal with instructions.
