CODE OF CONDUCT AND CODE OF ETHICS

The purpose of code of conduct and code of ethics is to provide a clear framework within which students, teaching and non teaching staff at the Dronacharya Government College, Gurugram are expected to conduct themselves. Individuals can use these guidelines in their everyday interaction with their colleagues, peers and subordinates. Our Institution strive to maintain harmonious and healthy work environment with discipline, mutual respect and integrity at all levels.

Code of Conduct For Teachers

  • Constant efforts undertaken to achieve professional development by updating Knowledge in their subject.
  • Cooperating in a healthy manner with fellow colleagues and other stakeholders by constructive collaboration and effective communication.
  • Abide by the Act , statute and ordinance of the University and to respect its ideals , vision ,mission , cultural practices and tradition.
  • Fully cooperate in conduct of University and college academics as well as extra curricular activities including examinations , supervision , invigilation , evaluation and actively participating in organizing extension ,co-curricular and extra curricular activities.
  • Take pride in teaching profession and to render full cooperation, respect and dignity to other members of the profession.

  • Abstain from making objectionable statements about colleagues, higher authorities especially in the presence of students , other teachers or parents.
  • Be regular and punctual and meet classes regularly as per the scheduled time table.
  • Take prior permission of the Principal before leaving the campus in the college hours.
  • Render Proctorial duties regularly in order to maintain strict discipline in the campus.
  • All communications related to professional works to be communicated through proper channel by giving all necessary information in the office and seeking to prior approval of the chair before proceeding such communication.

  • Facilitate students in developing career related skills, emotional and psychological Intelligence as well as laying strong foundation in character building.
  • Inculcate in students a sense of responsibility, self reliance, mutual respect, appreciation for personal and public property and stimulate the spirit of enquiry in students.
  • Make responsible efforts to protect students from conditions harmful to their health and safety.
  • Encourage the involvement of studies in social service activities and inspire them to respect cultural diversity of our nation.
  • Discuss and debate on the controversial topics/issues from an objective view point in order to foster in environment for free expression of opinion and at the same time learning the spirit of enquiry and research.

  • Not divulge in any confidential information relating to the affairs of the college to any person not authorized in respect thereof.
  • Refrain from raising questions of caste, greed, religion, race, sex, region for language in his relationship with his colleagues and using the above consideration for improvement of his prospects.
  • Refrain from exploiting official facilities and staff for personal, political or religious ends and misuse of privileges.
  • Strictly abstain from giving any private coaching/classes directly or indirectly.
  • Carry out the work related to assessment & evaluation with utmost impartiality.
  • The teacher shall not enrol herself/himself for any course of study/appear in the examination of University or other bodies without the prior permission of the competent authority.

  • Duty leave will be granted if performing duties of the University/College/Government as per guidelines and prior permission is required from availing casual leave(CL),Duty leave (DL)or earned leave(EL).
  • Attend FDPs, Refresher/Orientation courses to enhance their knowledge relevant in their fields as per the requirement of career advancement with due permission and sanction of the competent authority.
  • Set a wonderful example for the students by their behavior, commitment for excellence in work and professional achievements.

Code of Conduct For Students

Following codes shall apply to all sorts of conduct for students in the college premises as well as outside the campus if it calls for adverse impact on the institution’s interests or reputation.

  • To attend all the classes regularly as per the assigned time-table and maintaining at least 75% record in his/her attendance.
  • Absence in class for more than 7days together without any information to the concerned teacher will result in getting the name struck off as well as invite a fine.
  • Student will have to bring their parents/guardians to seek readmission within 15 days of their name getting struck off the rolls. Admission may be given with a penal payment of Rs 500/- and permission from the Principal of the college.

  • It is mandatory to wear college I-card all the time while in the campus and show it when asked for by the faculty/staff.
  • Student should contribute in maintaining cleanliness of the campus by using waste bins, not destroying any green areas/ flora and avoid using any plastic material in the campus.
  • Student using vehicles while coming to college have to use the designated parking and abide by all traffic rules by wearing helmets and are also personally responsible for the safety of their vehicles.
  • In case of misbehavior or gross indiscipline or making indecent gesture/remarks with fellow student or staff member, a student can be suspended or rusticated from the college.
  • Should not destroy/steal/damage or access without permission the college property or property of other student or faculty member or support staff.

  • Political activity in any form is not permitted in the college campus. Unauthorized meeting ,propaganda work , processions or fund collections are forbidden within and outside the college.
  • Harassing juniors ,ill-treatment towards fellow student or any other form of ragging is strictly prohibited and liable to be treated as criminal offence as per the provisions envisaged under Haryana Anti Ragging Act,2012.
  • Student shall refrain from using mobile phones unnecessarily and they shall keep their mobile phones in silent mode specially in the class and library. No arrangement of party/function at their own level without prior permission of the Principal is allowed.
  • It is mandatory for all the student to attend the seminars/workshops/extension lectures conducted for them and they cannot enter/leave the room without the permission of the concerned teacher.

Code of conduct for non-teaching �staff

Every staff employed in the college shall discharge his/her duties efficiently and diligently conforming to the rules and regulation already prescribed.

  • No staff employed in the college shall be absent from duty without prior permission. In case of sickness or absence on medical ground ,a medical certificate to the satisfaction of the college authorities need to be submitted.
  • No staff employed in the college shall engage in any political activity or get associated with any political party or subscribe to/assist in any other manner to any political movement.
  • No staff employed in a college shall contest/participate/canvass for any candidate in any election.

  • No staff employed in the college shall include in any criticism of the policies of the government directly or indirectly or participate in activities which bring disrepute to the government.
  • No staff shall leave the campus during college hours without giving prior information to the admin head / principal.
  • The non teaching staff should not an any account , undertake any other job within the ascribed office hours . Neither shall he/she engage himself in any trade or business within college premises.
  • They should not engage in remarks or behavior that might be considered disrespectful to their non-teaching colleagues, teaching staff, student, Principal guests, parents etc. that might tarnish the overall image of the institution.
  • No non teaching staff should be under the influence of drugs/alcohol during offices hours.

  • The non teaching staff shall always respect the confidentiality of the information in the office records at their disposal.
  • They shall not indulge in any kind of discriminatory activity based on gender, caste or religion.
  • The shall not undertake any falsification or tempering with official records entrusted to them.
  • It is expected that they behave in a helpful, cooperative and cordial manner towards the students/staff and other authorities.
  • Any matter of dispute/discontent should be settled in a harmonious and amicable in order to uphold good will and honor of the institution.

Code of Conduct for the Principal �

  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for student learning and faculty research.
  • Treat faculty staff and student fairly and impartially.
  • Strive to ensure the availability of resources required to accomplish goals and objectives.
  • Encourage exemplary teaching research and other professional activities .
  • To see that the provisions of Act, Statutes, Ordinances and regulations of the institution are duly observed and is carried out in strict adherence.
  • Comply with laws, rules and regulations of the government applicable to the Institution.

  • Endeavour to promote a work culture and ethics that brings about quality, professionalism, satisfaction and service to the Nation and society.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of the records and other sensitive matters.
  • Follow the objectives and policies of Institution and contribute constructively to their on going evaluation and reformulation.
  • To upload and upkeep the ethos of inclusiveness in terms of imparting education in the institution.
  • To create and maintain an unbiased gender free atmosphere within the premises of the college so that all the stakeholders enjoy equal opportunities.
