Community Circle - Bathroom Vandalism

Have you ever gone into a bathroom and found a mess? Something broken? Give examples.

Have you ever gone into a bathroom and found graffiti/things written on the stalls? Give examples.

What is the impact of vandalism in the bathrooms on students? On staff?

What are your ideas about how to end vandalism in the bathrooms?

Here are some examples of expectations we could make for our bathrooms. What do you think of these expectations? What other expectations would you like to see?

• Take good care of the bathroom so that people who need to use it will find it clean and ready to use
• Use the bathroom, wash your hands, and head back to class. Bathrooms are not for hanging out with friends
• What else would you like to see? Teachers, please note student ideas and send them to Ms. T!

Open Canvas and check for missing assignments in each class. For each assignment, ask yourself:

• Do I have the materials I need to complete this assignment? If the answer is no, how will I get the materials?
• Do I need help completing this assignment? Who will I ask?

Cards and signs for 5th graders!

Each Focus should make cards that include a welcoming/encouraging message and nice artwork/color

Each Focus should make several (3) signs (8x12 or 11x7) for 5th grade classrooms. Posters should include welcoming/encouraging messages and eye-catching artwork/color

When Mr. T received his star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame, he made his hand prints after the cement was dry.

Grade Level Check In Grid - fill out together

• What’s happening in each class for each grade?
• What questions do you have? What help do you need?
• Students share info, teacher will put it into the grid

Use the rest of Focus time to:

• Complete assignments/do homework
• Get organized
• Work on your card or poster for 5th graders
• Quiet reading when you’re done
