I. PASSIVE VOICE OF PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE
Berikut rumus passive voice dalam present continuous tense:
Active Voice
S + am/is/are + present participle + direct object
Passive Voice:
S (direct object) + is/am/are + being + past participle +/- by …(agent)
Rumus di atas berlaku untuk transitive verb, dimana memang kata kerja tersebut yang umum dipasifkan
Contoh Kalimat Passive Voice – Present Continuous Tense :
1. The surveyor is using the digital theodolite.� (Surveyor sedang menggunakan teodolit digital.)
The digital teodolit is being used.� (Teodolit digital sedang digunakan.)
2. She is not cutting the grass now.� (Dia tidak sedang memotong rumput sekarang.)
The grass is not being cut now.� (Rumput tidak sedang dipotong sekarang.)
3. They are usually cleaning the floor when I come.� (Mereka biasanya sedang membersihkan lantai ketika saya datang.)
The floor is usually being cleaned when I come.� (Lantai biasanya sedang dibersihkan ketika saya datang.)
II. PASSIVE VOICE OF PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE
Affirmative Form Object + was / were + being + verb3 (past participle)
Question Form Was / Were + Object + being + verb3 (past participle) ?
Something was being done by someone at sometime in the past for a while.��Active : The boy was throwing the stone.�Passive : The stone was being thrown by the boy.��Active : What was he writing on the desk?�Passive : What was being written by him on the desk?��Active : Was the suspect dragging you?�Passive : Were you being dragged by the suspect?��Active : Nobody was watching TV.�Passive : The TV wasn't being watched (by anybody)
III. PASSIVE VOICE OF PRESENT FUTURE CONTINUOUS TENSE.
Jadi, rumus yang digunakan untuk membuat Passive Voice dalam Present Future Continuous Tense adalah sebagai berikut :
S + Will/ Shall + Be + Being + V3
To Be yang digunakan untuk membuat kalimat Passive Voice dalam Tense ini adalah
"Be + Being".
Contoh pembuatan kalimat Passive Voice dalam bentuk positive :
Active :
(Mereka akan sedang belajar bahasa Inggris pada jam 9 senin depan).
(Dia (L) akan sedang menunggumu jam 8 besok pagi).
Passive :
(Bahasa Inggris akan sedang dipelajari oleh mereka pada jam 9 senin depan).
(Kamu akan sedang ditunggu oleh dia (L) jam 8 besok pagi).
ACTIVE AND PASSIVE VOICE
Example : Kusno killed a tiger
Example : A tiger was killed by Kusno
PATTERN : S + IS/ AM/ ARE + VERB.3
I. SIMPLE PRESENT
Mary is bitten by the dog ( P V )
The dog bites Mary ( AV )
III. PRESENT PERFECT TENSE
PATTERN : S + have/has + been + V.3 + by + object
Piano has been played by him ( PV )
He has played piano ( AV )
IV . PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE
PATTERN : S + have / has + been being + V.3 + o
An apple has been being eaten by John
John has been eating an apple ( AV )
V. SIMPLE PAST TENSE
PATTERN : S + WAS / WERE + VERB.3 + O
The English lesson was not studied by Mery ( PV )
Mery did not study the English lesson ( AV )
VI . PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE
PATTERN : S + was/were + being + past participle + O
Dinner was being cooked by mom when we came ( PV )
EX: My mom was cooking dinner when we came ( AV )
VII. PAST PERFECT TENSE
I thought the email had been sent by me ( PV )
PATTERN : S + HAD + BEEN + VERB.3 + O
EX : I thought I had sent the email ( AV )
VIII. PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE
PATTERN : S + HAD + BEEN + BEING + VERB. 3 + O
Ex : She had been waiting for two hours before the
bus finally arrived. ( AV )
She had been being waited for two hours before
the bus finally arrived ( PV )
My work had been finishing before dinner ( AV )
My work had been being finished before dinner. ( PV )
IX. PATTERN : S + WILL / SHALL + BE + VERB.3 + O
EX : I will give you a writing assignment ( AV )
IX. FUTURE TENSE
A writing assignment will be given by me
X. FUTURE CONTINUOUS TENSE
PATTERN : S + will + be + being + Verb.3
EX : They will be building the new hotel next year. ( AV )
The new hotel will be being built by them next year
XI. FUTURE PERFECT TENSE
PATTERN : S + WILL + HAVE + BEEN + VERB.3 + O
Will many tourist have expected to arrive in Bali at
the end of the year? ( AV )
Will many tourist have been expected to arrive
in Bali at he end of the year? ( PV )
XII. PASSIVE VOICE WITH MODALS
PATTERN : S + MODALS ( MAY, COULD, CAN, MUST,
SHOULD, WILL, etc ) + BE + V.3
EX : Our English teacher may give an exam today ( AV )
An exam may be given by our English teacher today ( PV )
SOAL LATIHAN
1. My sisters water the flowers every morning
The flowers are watered by my sisters every morning
2. Mother is cooking the soup right now.
The soup is being cooked by mother right now
3. My father has repaired the car.
The car has been repaired by my father
4. Luna has been reading the novel.
The novel has been being read by Luna.
5. I watched a movie last night.
A movie was watched by me last night
6. Ara was watching an action movie last night.
An action movie was being watched by Ara.
7. I thought I had sent the email.
I thought the email I had been sent by me.
8. My sister had been washing her bed sheet for several times before dinner.
My sister had been being washed her bed sheet for several times

They will be met him next Sunday at Tebet
10. They will be building the new hotel next year.
