MANAGEMENT OF ANTENATAL (PRENATAL) CARE FOR COVID-19 PREGNANCY

COVID-19-positive women

Practice home isolation in a well-ventilated room and maintain respiratory and hand cleanliness. Utilize a triple-layer medical mask and dispose off it after a duration of 8 hours

Maintain a lateral posture for rest, ensure proper hydration, maintain a balanced diet, and perform warm water gargles

Regular monitoring of body temperature, heart rate, and blood oxygen saturation every 4 hours using a thermometer and pulse oximeter

The recommended symptomatic treatment for fever, running nose, and cough is to take a tablet of paracetamol 650 mg three to four times daily

Admit to hospital if high risk (uncontrolled hypertension, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, chronic pulmonary disease or malignancy or danger signs during home isolation such as <95% O2 saturation, respiratory rate >30 breaths/min, or fever >39°C)
