CyberBullying

  • Cyberbullying is when someone uses an electronic device to bully a person or to send messages to scare a person in a threatening type.
  • The physical effects that can be caused by cyberbullying are headaches, stomach aches, and sleeping problems
  • Some mental effects that can be caused by cyberbullying are anxiety, depresion, low self-esteem, etc.
  • Cyberbullying can cause poor academic performances and sometimes even sucide.

  • 87.73% of women, and 65.37% of men compare themselves online
  • 63% of women, and 46% of men want filters to work in real life
  • According to the American Psychological Association “Social media can expose users to hundreds or even thousands of images and photos every day, including those of celebrities and fashion or fitness models, which we know leads to an internalization of beauty ideals that are unattainable for almost everyone, resulting in greater dissatisfaction with body weight and shape.”

Risks of online

Relationships

  • Teens who get into relationships through online websites may not be getting with who they think they are.
  • 51% of teens get catfished and 47% say they were hacked.
  • Teens who are catfished are exposed to inappropriate private images, stalkers, harassment, and much more. These kids tend to experience mental illness like anxiety and depression, some as far and suicide.
