  • Students can be classified into 2 types for this, fast learner and slow learner.
  • This should be determined by the teacher and the correct course of action should be taken accordingly.
  • For slow learners: The student is required to create an application during the last session OR Modify any of the existing projects in curriculum. Submit the app using form link, also provided in this doc’s resource table.
  • DO NOT explain the process of publishing apps to the slow learners.
  • For fast learners: The student is required to create a unique application.

  • But, in this case the students do not need any of the above.
  • They can just fill the form mentioned in this index table and Brightchamps will take care of the process.
  • But, in order to be a well rounded thunkable developer, the student needs to learn app publishing process as well.
  • So, let's begin the process to learn app publishing using thunkable and google play console.

  • Search Google play console on any search engine

  • Select the link on the search results as shown in the shown image below.

  • This will redirect to the official terms of service page of Google play console

  • If the user is already signed in on Google using his/her account, he/she shall be directed to the review terms of service page

  • If not signed in, sign in using Google account and proceed to review terms of service as shown in the image.

To publish your app on Android, you'll need to add an app icon, a name, a package name and an app version. To find the App settings, click on the App Icon on the top left.

  • Each Android app that is published to the Play Store has a unique package name. Currently, you can enter this in the App (Bundle) ID field.
  • Your package name should be all lower case. None of the segments should begin with a number. None of the segments should have an accent on the characters.
  • Before you download your app, make sure you set the appropriate Build and Version Number.
  • Google Play requires each new version of your app to have a unique and sequentially higher Build and Version Number.
  • You can also let Thunkable auto-increment (or automatically increase) the build and version numbers for you.

  • Download Android App Bundle(AAB) from thunkable by clicking the download icon and selecting Publish Android(This step requires pro account, refer note in beginning of the session.)

  • After you click Send, you will receive you AAB file as an email. This will take approximately 30 minutes.
  • Submit your app for review
  • Create a new app on the Google Play Developer Console

  • You will be asked to provide some details about your app:
  • App Name (Text)
  • Default Language (Select from a drop-down menu)
  • If you're releasing an App or a Game (select one)
  • If your app is Free or Paid (select one)

  • You will also be asked to confirm that your app meets the Google Play Developer Program Policies and to accept that your app may be subject to US export laws.

  • App access: is any of your app's content locked behind a paywall or login screen?
  • Ads: does your app serve ads?
  • Content rating: Does your app contain strong language, violence, or other sensitive material?
  • Target audience: Is this app designed for children?
  • News apps: Is the function of your app to provide news updates to your users?

Categorization/Organization

  • Set an App Category, and add Tags to make your app more easily searchable
  • Add Contact Details: you must provide an email address, and you can also provide a phone number or website

Marketing Details

  • An App Name to be shown the Play Store
  • A Short Description of your app
  • A Full Description of your app

To complete your Play Store listing, you will have to fill out a content rating questionnaire and set pricing and availability. In addition you will need to add a minimum of 4 design assets - two screenshots, a higher resolution icon (512 x 512 px) and a feature graphic (1024 x 500 px) that shows up on the Play Store app.
