Device Care and Expectations
CARING FOR THE PERSONAL MOBILE COMPUTING DEVICE
You are responsible for the general care of your school issued device. If your device is broken or not working correctly, you must let your teacher know so they can put in a work order to get it fixed. You are responsible for keeping your device charged daily and ready for school use.
GENERAL PRECAUTIONS
Carefully insert cords and cables into your device to prevent damage. Devices and cases must remain free of any decorations. “Skins” and other personalization are not allowed. Never leave your device in an unlocked locker, unlocked car or any other unsupervised area.
CARRYING PERSONAL MOBILE COMPUTING DEVICES
The district provides you with a protective case for your device. You must keep your device inside the case at all times. You should never use your device while walking or moving from place to place. Your device case must remain closed any time you are walking. Removing the device from the district-issued case is not allowed. Cases should not hold other objects. Folders, workbooks, etc. should be kept in a book bag or carried separately to avoid placing excessive weight on the device screen.
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Report email containing inappropriate or abusive language or questionable subject matter to a teacher or administrator at school. (You can only send and receive email within the district. You cannot email to anyone outside the district.) �
Report any malfunctioning or damaged mobile device to your teacher.��If you leave to go to another school outside of Lexington School District One, you must turn in your school issued device.
TERMS OF USE OF THE PERSONAL MOBILE COMPUTING DEVICE
● Passwords are not to be shared with others.
● Your device or power cords will not be loaned to others.
● Food and beverages will be kept away from your device.
● Your device is not to be taken apart or repaired outside of the District.
● Do not place decorations (such as stickers, markings, paint, etc.) on your device or case.
TERMS OF USE OF THE PERSONAL MOBILE COMPUTING DEVICE
● Your school issued device is to be protected by carrying it in the protective case provided.
● Do not stack objects on top of your device or force it into tight areas.
● Do not leave your device outside or use it in or near water as it is not waterproof or water-resistant.
● You and your parents will be financially responsible for all damage to or loss of your device, protective case, and power cords caused by misuse, abuse, negligence or intentional damage.
