Once selected, Staff Cadets applications will be moved to the assigned CTC. Their letter of offer or reissued letter of offer will indicate which CTC (Serial) they have been assigned to.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS

SELECTING A COURSE

  • Applications will be available on our Website
  • Make sure you are eligible – Read the course description
  • You can select up to two (2) CTC courses (Level 2+) 
  • You cannot select a course more than once!
  • Keep in mind, you may not be selected for your top choice! You must be prepared to accept any of your two choices. 
  • Talk this over with your parents, and make sure you are 100% ready to accept any of the three courses you apply to!
  • Declining a course will have a negative impact on you and the Squadron.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Attendance:

  1. Mandatory Training
  2. Optional Training
  3. Community service

​

Training Level: Cadets will be given credit for the highest level they have achieved and their performance in that level

​

Performance: Cadets will be given credit for their overall reliability, responsibility and performance as a cadet, including NCM positions. 

​

Notable contributions or recognition: Cadets have many opportunities to contribute to the squadron, participate in community service and other measures which will be used as metrics

​

Squadron Need: Future ability to fill a role within the Squadron 

​

PROHIBITIVE CRITERIA

  • Qualification: A cadet will NOT be prioritized for a summer course for which they are not qualified. Qualifications may include years in cadets, training level, age or physical factors. Full qualifications can be found in the summer training brochure on Cadets Canada website.
  • Conduct: A cadet will NOT be considered whose demonstrates poor behaviour or exhibits improper conduct expected of a cadet.
  • Attendance: A cadet with inadequate attendance (Less than 70%) will NOT be placed on a summer training priority list.

SUMMER COURSE SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Cadets and parents may inquire about their own placement on the priority lists but will not receive information on any other cadet on the list.
  • Your application status will be updated and visible to you online through “Forms Centre”
