UNO Cartridge

    • twist the lid off counterclockwise
    • fill the spaces with up to 15 treats
    • twist the lid back on clockwise
      • the notches on the lid line up with the spaces on the bottom
    • twist the UNO clockwise onto the power base
      • holes in the bottom on the UNO lineup with the metal pins on the top of the power base
      • make sure the opening in the powerbase lines up with the opening in the UNO cartridge

Travel Base

    • Snap the legs into the holes in the disc-shaped middle piece
    • Pop-out the travel bowl and align the hole on the top of the bowl with the middle of the half-moon shape on the middle with legs attached.
    • Twist the power base clockwise onto the middle
      • the holes on the power base line up with the plastic pins on the middle
      • make sure the dip in the power base lines up with the bowl

Power Source

    • The Mini can be powered two ways(wall or external battery) Note: There is no internal battery.
    • wall power - two-prong converter and USB-micro
    • Plug the smaller end of the stripped cord into the bottom of the power base
    • Plug the bigger end of the stripped cord into a wall converter or an external battery source

Crate Mount

    • Twist the Mini power base clockwise onto the crate mount the holes on the power base line up with the plastic pins on the crate mount.(2 dispense orientations)
    • Zip tie the crate mount onto a crate and cut off the extra plastic on the zip tie

Setting Up

Plug in your Pet Tutor Mini feeder and make sure that the green power light is on

On your phone -open your Wifi preferences and see if PetTutorSetup_192_168_4_1 is an option (this could take a minute to show up on your Wifi Preferences)

Note: some displays may look different depending

on the device you are using

If PetTutorSetup_192_168_4_1 is an option for you, skip to slide 14

If it is not, continue to the next slide of instructions

BLE Scanner

Download the BLE Scanner 4.0 App from the App Store on your smartphone

(icons and displays can look different depending on your phone)

Open the BLE Scanner 4.0 Scanner App on your Home Screen

Click the "Connect" button next to the PTFeeder on the BLE Scanner 4.0 App Home Screen

Click “Pair”

Clear Credentials: Android

Click "Custom Services"

Choose the first one or the one that is not “dead”

Click "Write,Read"

Click the “W” in the blue circle

Click the "Text" button, then put a small "s" in the text window and hit "Write".

This should fire your unit to makes sure you have the right unit.

Repeat this step with a capital "R"

Connect to the Feeder as a Wifi Router

Disclaimer: This Process will disconnect you from your wifi

Make sure you are not on a video chat or in the middle of something important

Open your Wifi preferences and connect to the PetTutor Setup (this could take a while to show up on your Wifi Preferences)

Go to your preferred browser

Then in your browser search bar type in 192.168.4.1 as if it were a url. You should see the webpage on the next page.

Type in Your Credentials

Note: If you get an error message, go back and make sure you are connected to the PetTutorSetup_192_168_4_1 and refresh the page

Fill out the settings to match your Wifi router and Wifi password note: if your router has 2 names you want the name for the 2.4G Hz speed.

  • Your MQTT user is your email address
  • Your MQTT pass is pettutor
  • You can also rename your device/feeder name!

If you have a 5G and non-5G router choose the non-5G router(2.4G) to connect

Double Check and Submit

Note: Make sure there are no extra spaces or trailing spaces in your information, and that capitals were not auto added. Your MQTT user and password are all lowercase.

Hit the "Submit" button and reconnect your phone to your wifi

In the browser, Reload your Remote Feeding Panel and try your feed button

Turning off sound/beep

If you are using your mini clicker:

  1. Turn on your mini clicker
  2. Short press the right button until it says “Buzzer off”
  3. Press the big M5 button for three seconds
  4. If this does not work, try updating your mini clicker

If you are using your Wifi/Remote Feeding Panel:

  1. Follow the directions of setting up your feeder onto wifi - make sure your feeder is plugged in
  2. Open your remote feeding panel
  3. Go to the settings tab
  4. Hit the button next to “Feeder Buzzer”

Can’t get the Wifi capability to work

  1. Turn the unit upside down. If there is a red light ONLY on, you are connected to your router. If there is both a red and blue light on, you are not connected.
  2. Retry setting up your credentials and be very careful.
  3. Make sure there are not extra or trailing spaces. Make sure all your into is correct. Make sure there are no capital letters.
  4. If it works properly, you should hear two beeps.

Feeder is dispensing treats with no command

Can’t turn tilt mode off

  1. Turn on the mini clicker
  2. See if the T on the screen is highlighted
  3. If it is not, contact the support team. If it is, go to the next step
  4. Quick press the right button on the clicker until the top of the screen shows “Tilt off”
  5. Press the middle M5 button for 3 seconds
  6. The T on the home screen should be unhighlighted
  7. If the problem persists, reach out to our support team

My feeder is not working with what I am trying to trigger it with.

Feeder is not rotating

  1. Make sure that the only your feeder and the device you are using to trigger it are on
    1. Turn off all other pet tutor devices
  2. Take the UNO cartridge off and see if the pin is rotating
  3. If it still isn’t turning, follow the instructions for the BLE Scanner app to write the feeder an “s” command, and turn off everything but the feeder
  4. Does it double beep after you attempt to trigger the feeder?
  5. Reach out to the support team if the feeder still is not turning

Treats are not being dispensed

Too many treats are being dispensed

  1. We do not recommend using wet/moist treats with the Mini
  2. Frozen treats can be a problem when they thaw and release moisture
  3. If you are using dry treats, make sure to align the rotor of the UNO by holding your finger in the space and triggering the feeder
