The Charlottesville City-Wide PTO Fund presents a unique opportunity for corporations and foundations to create systemic change in public education while strengthening our community. With a $100,000 Year One goal, we are building a sustainable model that ensures equitable resource distribution across all Charlottesville City Schools, directly impacting 4,443 students, 537 teachers, and 332 staff members.

The grounds around school contain a lot of unsafe trash and debris. Can we organize a group of parents or a day to clean up?

Grounds Clean Up

In March of 2025, Charlottesville City School Board voted 6–4 to draft a memorandum (MOU) to reintroduce armed police officers (SROs) to the High School and Middle School.

​

The MOU presented to the public in August called for hiring 4 new police officers (2 for HS, 1 for MS, 1 floater) that would start in schools in 2026.

​

Following public outcry, the school board has agreed to hear more feedback.
