Once the Marahaja of Tranvancore ordered his cook--

use the vegetable scraps instead of throwing them.

The cook was in a fix.

An idea flashed across his mind.

He collected the vegetable scraps, washed and cut them into long strips.

The cook boiled the vegetable scraps into in a pot.

He took out the grinding stone

He ground the coconut , green chillies and garlic together into a paste .

The cook added the paste and some salt to the cooked vegetables

Then he whipped some curd and added to the curry
