Problem

  • LSA Technology Services’ Local Database will no longer be supported on Filemaker Pro, so there must be a solution as to what should be done with the data it holds and the function it serves as a database that includes all spaces supported by LSA Tech Services.

Methods

Results

  • While only one person uses Local Database regularly, it is the only resource shows all the spaces that LSA supports
  • Many support services employees wish there were more extensive space details available such as installed assets, furniture, and architectural information
  • My proposals include expanding MClassrooms, creating a new database to accommodate everyone’s data needs, or attempting to expand the data available in MGIS.
  • I recommend first trying to expand MClassrooms and then pursuing the creation of a new database if unsuccessful
  • Met with key team members to get a better understanding of resources
  • Conducted 17 contextual inquiry interviews
  • Created an affinity wall with user feedback
  • Synthesized feedback to create three proposals
  • Submitted an executive summary
