WHAT YOUR STUDENTS NEED TO KNOW

4 of 16

A Day

  1. Campus Time--For Students--new start time of 8:45
    1. Students will be let into gate at 8:30am. Do not drop off your students early as they have nowhere to go and will be unsupervised.
      1. Gates open = Main Front & Btw 200/300
  2. Fill out ClearPass. (from home, in your car)
    • If doing in advance, take a screenshot.
    • If RED, do not come to campus.
    • We get emails warning us. You will be immediately removed from class if red AND WE HAVE TO GO INTO COVID PROTOCOL…..it’s a lot so do not send
  3. By sending your child you have agreed to following protocol at all times including masks at all times.
  4. All students must stay for office hours--good time to get help
  5. Students will be dismissed after Period 3 and grab and go lunches will be available on the way out but not required to take.

Student Stable Groups

  • The District is committed to providing 4 days of in person instruction to all students. However...due to current distancing guidelines, if more than 50% of our students wish to return, we will need to create what is known as “stable groupings.”

  • Stable groups are not cohorts, rather a set group of students that will be on campus and attend certain physical locations, i.e. their 3 classes for the day.

  • Currently the survey reveals more students than we can have in classrooms at once; to handle this fairly, we are dividing the students by alpha, A - L & M - Z.

Strategic grouping of students - Stable Groups

Based on the District survey data, we anticipate over 2/3rds of students will return.

In order to maintain 6ft (no less than 5ft distancing) in all class spaces, the rosters of each class will be split 50%. So, if 36, then 18 students. PE, ROTC will need to be held outdoors with appropriate distancing.

  • We have reviewed the data for all sections of all courses and are breaking up students into, “stable groups” by alpha A-L and M-Z. Students can not come on days not assigned as those seats are assigned to other children and could throw the class into non sanctioned situation
  • Students will not travel in a cohort, but rather the students will be separated into groups, by period, and those groups will be stable.
  • Students must attend all three periods that day unless they’re only scheduled for two classes.
  • Security and administration will be out every passing period to help students move from class to class

ClearPass

  1. Please make sure your student completes this every day. Be prepared to show GREEN. Please do this, if possible, before they enter campus. Go directly to Period 1 and show to enter.
  2. If you come up RED:
    1. Stay home and learn online.
  3. We run the ClearPass report- do not forget!
  4. Teachers have paper versions for students who need them.

Wellness - Social Emotional--What we have told staff

  • It will be strange for you to be on campus in person.
  • It will be strange for you and all of us when students come back on April 12. Be mindful!
  • As we have stated since the beginning of pandemic teaching, then moving to Distance Learning- give yourself and students extra grace and empathy as we once again go into uncharted territory.
  • Students will have anxiety, they may be stressed. Many of us have not interacted with people outside our families in much capacity for over a year.

What’s the deal with Fridays?

  • All students will be online on Fridays, no matter which learning model selected.
  • We will not hold extra PD during this time; our weekly schedule already accommodates Flex Time.
  • In an effort to maintain the level of teaching and learning we have now, we will keep the same schedule for Fridays.
  • Teachers are required per their contract to do live interaction with students for a minimum of 30 minutes on Fridays
    • Most teachers are planning on teaching the regular period times; others may elective to provide additional asynchronous work
  • No students are allowed on campus unless its for Athletic Purposes/Band and Coach Pisapia is aware
