Step 1: Choose a Native Plant

  • Select one native Australian plant to focus on.
  • You will research and explain its biology and cultural uses.
  • Examples: Emu Bush, Saltbush, Quandong, Wattle, Kangaroo Paw, Paperbark.

Step 2: Research Questions

  • What is the plant’s common and scientific name?
  • Where does it grow? (climate, habitat, region)
  • What are its survival adaptations?
  • How is it used by First Nations Peoples?
  • Why is it important to community and ecosystem?

Step 3: Create a Poster or Profile

  • Draw and label the plant.
  • Include facts, uses, and adaptations.
  • Make it colourful and easy to understand.
  • Add First Nations symbols or patterns respectfully.

  • Gallery Walk – View each group’s poster.
  • Share one interesting thing you learned.
