“Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. His light is like a niche in which there is a lamp, the lamp is in a crystal, the crystal is like a shining star, lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree, [located] neither to the east or the west whose oil would almost glow, even without being touched by fire. Light upon light! Allah guides whomever he wills to his light. And Allah sets forth parables for humanity for Allah has [perfect] knowledge of all things.”
Surah An-Nur, Ayah 35:
Q: How many times is the olive mentioned in the Quran?
A: Seven times!
Can you think of an ayah where it was mentioned?
Fun facts:
Freshly pressed olive oil is bright!
“…oil would almost glow, even without being touched by fire…”
(24:25)
Olive oil is used medicinally as well:
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
“…take oil of the olive and massage with it—it is a blessed tree”
&
“Eat olive oil and use it on your hair and skin, for it comes from a blessed tree.”
Olive trees can live to thousands of years old!
