  1. INTRODUCTION

  • This message serves to inspire confidence that despite current struggles or setbacks, the right moment for success, joy and fulfillment are on the horizon
  • Look at the current state of the economy ( GDP per capita ), health, education, career and promotions, business, retirement, personal dreams, marriage, challenges in families, church vision and our nation
  • God’s word today will reinforce the belief that God’s plan for each person is good and will come to fruition

2. EXAMPLES

  • Abraham & Sarah waiting for the right time to give birth to a promised son.
      • Abram ( 80 yrs. ) and Sarah ( 70 yrs. ) were promised by God that they would have a son, thru whom Abraham’s descendants would be a great nation ( Gen 15:4-5 )
      • Taking matters into their own hands – Sarah suggested that Abraham have a child with her maid servant, Hager to fulfill God’s promise
      • Abraham at 86 yrs. agreed – they had a son named Ismael
      • At age 90, Sarah miraculously gave birth to Isaac, full filling God’s promise
      • Story teaches that God’s timing is often different from ours
      • Patience amidst uncertainty – struggle with impatience can lead to actions that are not aligned with God’s will e.g. birth of Ishmael
      • Despite their struggles – eventual obedience & trust in God’s promise was rewarded with birth of Isaac

  • Jesus turning water into wine at wedding in Cana of Galilee ( John 2: 1-11 ) – Jesus first recorded miracle
      • Demonstration of waiting for the Right Moment
      • Jesus initially responds to his mother by saying “My time has not yet come” ( John 2:4 )
      • Jesus told servants to fill 6 stone water jars with water
      • Indicates that he was aware of a divine timing beyond human expectation
      • Teaches us that there are moments when we must wait for the right time to act, even when the circumstances seem urgent
      • Encourages believers to trust in God’s perfect timing, act in faith and witness the joy and abundance that comes from following him

3. KEY POINTS

    • God’s timing is divine and precise – God has specific moments planned for fulfillment of his promises – his timing is always right & perfect ( Gen 21:2 )
    • Avoid forcing outcome - attempting to fast-track can lead to unnecessary complications ( Gen 16:1-4 )
    • Preparation during waiting – period of waiting are opportunities for personal growth & developing the character needed to handle forthcoming blessings ( Psa 1:3 )
    • Trust in God’s promises – reminded to maintain our faith even when faced with delays or challenges. His promises are unwavering and will manifest at the appointed time ( Isaiah 60:22 )

4. APPLICATIONS

    • Trust in God’s Timing – we are encouraged to trust that God’s timing is perfect even when situations seem delayed or uncertain. Patience is the key in waiting for God’s plan to unfold ( Isaiah 60:22 )
    • Believe in the impossible – Christians should maintain faith that God can bring about miraculous changes in their lives, regardless of how impossible situation may seem ( Gen 18:14 )
    • Commit your plans to God – Christians are reminded to commit their plans and desires to God; trusting that He will guide them and bring them to fruition in His timing ( Psa 31:15 )
    • Recognise the Right Moment – Christians should be attentive to the opportunities that God presents and be ready to act when the time is right, rather than forcing their own agenda ( John 2:4 )

5. CONCLUSIONS

    • Stay faithful and positive – instead of getting discouraged, maintain faith, keep good attitude and continue doing the right thing. Your breakthrough is coming
    • Keep hope alive – even if life doesn't seem to be moving forward, hold onto hope. Stay confident that your moment of victory & blessing is on its way
    • Divine appointments are set – God has already scheduled the right people, opportunities, and breakthroughs for you
    • Delays are not denials – just because something hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. Waiting is part of God’s plan to prepare you for something greater
    • God’s plan is unstoppable – No obstacles, delay or opposition can prevent what God has ordained for your life
