Virtual / Remote Learning Days Carter County School District
2024 - 2025
Practice Virtual Learning Day December 20th, 2024
Carter County Schools K-12 will participate in a Practice Virtual Day of Learning on Friday, December 20th.
Friday, December 20th will be a Virtual/Remote Learning Practice Day for students.
K-5 Teachers will send Virtual Learning Practice Day work home on December 13th. This allows students and parents the opportunity to ask questions during the week of December 16th – 19th before the actual Virtual / Remote Learning Practice Day occurs. Students will complete the virtual work for December 20th and return the Practice Day work on January 7th.
The Virtual Learning Practice work will be labeled Virtual Learning Practice Day.
Students will return the work that was assigned for December 20th on Tuesday, January 7th when they return to school after the holiday break.
What will my child receive on December 13th for Virtual/Remote Learning?
In Grades K-5th, we are sending the work for the Virtual/Remote Practice Day home on December 13th as well as three packets of Virtual/Remote Work that will be announced as needed throughout the remainder of the school year. If you have any questions, please call your child’s school.
Please don’t let the semester end with questions. Schools will gladly answer any questions you have.
How will I know when a Virtual/Remote Learning Day is assigned for my child?
Our district still has the ability to announce a snow day as needed. We also have the opportunity to assign Virtual/Remote Learning Days as needed throughout the school year.
Dr. Carpenter will announce when a Virtual/Remote Learning Day has been assigned for our students.
This will be announced just as a snow day is communicated. For example: “ Carter County Schools will have a Virtual/Remote Day of Learning on…”
How will I know if my child has a snow day or a virtual/remote learning day?
When it is announced that Carter County Schools are closed.
No student work is assigned.
When a Virtual / Remote Learning Day is announced, students in Grades K-5 will need to complete a packet… Virtual Day #1, Virtual Day #2, or Virtual Day #3.
(This could be called a Remote Learning Day on the media sites.)
How will my child in Grades K-5th know what to do when a Virtual/Remote Learning Day is announced?
Does my child need to complete all the packets at one time?
*Your child will only complete the virtual/remote work as assigned.
*The first assignment will be for December 20th. ( The Virtual/Remote Learning Practice Day.) Only the work labeled and assigned for the Virtual/Remote Learning Practice Day will be returned on January 7th.
*For each Virtual/Remote Learning Day called, students will complete one day of virtual / remote work. For example, when Dr. Carpenter announces a Virtual/Remote Learning Day for students after the practice day on 12/20, the students will complete Virtual Day #1 work.
*When the next Virtual/Remote Learning Day is called, the students will complete Virtual Day #2 work.
When will students return their Virtual/Remote Day work?
