Western ‘News’ Media as Tyranny’s Propagandists Hiding Reality

U.S. ‘news’ media are actually propaganda-media. Because of this, the only poll that was ever published regarding the question of what country is “the greatest threat to peace in the world today,” found that, in all 65 countries surveyed (except the U.S. and a few others), the United States was identified as that, and not just by a small margin, but by an overwhelmingly high margin, which was three times higher a percentage than that of the #2-mentioned nation. The U.S. is famous for invading countries that never threatened it, and for perpetrating coups to overthrow leaders (many of whom were democratically elected) who also never threated the American people. If this doesn’t fit the definition of a “tyranny,” what does?

Greenspan Finally Tells the Awful Truth about Social Security

Greenspan’s words come as no surprise to anyone who has followed the history of Social Security after enactment of the Social Security Amendments of 1983. The legislation, which included a hefty payroll tax hike on the baby boomers, was designed to generate large Social Security surpluses for the next 30 years. The surplus revenue was supposed to be saved and invested in marketable Treasury bonds, which could later be sold to raise cash with which to finance Social Benefits for the Baby boomers.

Alan Greenspan played a major role in the debacle that has left the Social Security trust fund without any real assets. He was the “brains” behind the plot to raise Social Security taxes and then use the revenue for non-Social Security purposes. Over a 30-year period, the $2.7 trillion in surplus Social Security revenue, generated by the 1983 payroll tax hike, was taken from Social Security and spent as general revenue. As the money was spent, it was replaced, dollar for dollar, with non-marketable government IOUs. called special issues of the Treasury. These are government IOUs which are not marketable. They couldn’t be sold to anyone, even for a penny on the dollar.

Israel’s Clandestine Alliance with Gulf Arab States is Going Public

In 2009, a U.S. State Department diplomatic cable gave one of the first glimpses of what is becoming a burgeoning alliance between Israel and the Arab states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The cable quoted Israeli Foreign Ministry official Yacov Hadas saying, “the Gulf Arabs believe in Israel’s role because of their perception of Israel’s close relationship with the United States,” adding that GCC states “believe Israel can work magic.”

Transhumanism: Eternal Life or Eternal Slavery?

For the entire 20th century there has been a philosophical quest which yearned to go beyond what man is. This quest undoubtedly begins with Nietzsche, the father of the Ubermensch (Overman), and continued until our present day with the various transhumanist movements. Nietzsche’s notorious quote ”Man is something that shall be overcome”, in my opinion, is the starting point of this philosophical outlook.

Unfortunately, over the last 60 years a part of our elite, if not the whole of it, has hijacked the concept of transhumanism by giving licence to a de-humanization process that has been carried out using different technological tools and practices.

Researchers Find Missing Link Between

the Brain and Immune System

In a stunning discovery that overturns decades of textbook teaching, researchers at the University of Virginia School of Medicine have determined that the brain is directly connected to the immune system by vessels previously thought not to exist.

Encrypting Your Laptop Like You Mean It

Time and again, people are told there is one obvious way to mitigate privacy threats of all sorts, from mass government surveillance to pervasive online tracking to cybercriminals: Encryption. As President Obama put it earlier this year, speaking in between his administration’s attacks on encryption, “There’s no scenario in which we don’t want really strong encryption.” Even after helping expose all the ways the government can get its hands on your data, NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden still maintained, “Encryption works. Properly implemented strong crypto systems are one of the few things that you can rely on.”

Civil Disobedience

While Walden can be applied to almost anyone's life, "Civil Disobedience" is like a venerated architectural landmark: it is preserved and admired, and sometimes visited, but for most of us there are not many occasions when it can actually be used. Still, although seldom mentioned without references to Gandhi or King, "Civil Disobedience" has more history than many suspect. In the 1940's it was read by the Danish resistance, in the 1950's it was cherished by those who opposed McCarthyism, in the 1960's it was influential in the struggle against South African apartheid, and in the 1970's it was discovered by a new generation of anti-war activists. The lesson learned from all this experience is that Thoreau's ideas really do work, just as he imagined they would.

Green Energy Surging and you’ll never Guess Why

The adoption of wind and solar for electricity generation around the world is happening at a growing pace, and the likelihood is that it will displace hydrocarbons in fifteen to twenty years (decades sooner than Big Coal, Big Oil and Big Gas expect). Here are some stories illustrating that stepped-up pace.

Germany’s wind power output is up by a third in the first five months of 2015 over the same period the previous year.

China added 5 gigawatts of new solar capacity in the first three months of 2015!

The state of Maharashtra in India has announced a plan to nearly double its power generation from renewables over the next five years, with plans to have 7.5 gigawatts of solar energy and 5 gigawatts of wind by 2020.

Video (86 min) - Dirty Wars (full film)

Doug Valentine was very critical of Scahill. Scahill is a darling of the foundation-funded faux left. The film concerns the covert war in YEMEN for years before our democracy-loving allies, the Saudis, invaded and destroyed the country.

Scahill was called a conspiracy theorist for his reports, straight from the White House’s spokesgoon. Obama is shown on record demanding a Yemeni reporter be falsely imprisoned for reporting US atrocities. The military empire is out of control and even threatening Scahill with covert surveillance and threats not to publish.

Whatever you think of Scahill, he has unearthed some important information.

California is sinking faster than ever,

thanks to massive overpumping of water

While the state’s drought-induced sinking is well known, new details highlight just how severe it has become and how little the government has done to monitor it.

Last summer, scientists recorded the worst sinking in at least 50 years. This summer, all-time records are expected across the state as thousands of miles of land in the Central Valley and elsewhere sink.

A Charter for Democracy

The movement undeniably lives. Its form has been mutated, re-imagined, distributed, and coalesced into a swarm of activity and hacks to the system. We live here, we see it every day. These initiatives are not as easily seen, defined – or, for that matter, targeted – as a physical occupation may be; yet they permeate the hegemony, creating new possibilities and spaces. You need only look at the recent EU Parliamentary election results to see how Spanish voters have reacted to austerity and debt – and how that reaction contrasted strongly with that of some other European nations. One of the most important evolutions of 15-M is undoubtedly the “Movimiento por la Democracia” (Movement for Democracy).

Unsurprisingly, the Movement is hard to define. It clearly targets the political arena without desiring to become a political party itself. Their “Charter for Democracy” is an inspiring, thorough text on what politics should be. It proposes a politics for the people: squarely grounded in environmental realities and social justice, based on the Commons, defended from corporate interests and neo-liberal dictates. The Charter was written collectively through nearly 30 different workshops throughout Spain held over the span of a year, with the collaboration of some 200 individuals.

The Entirety of Jean-Luc Godard’s Breathless Artfully Compressed Into a 3 Minute Film

Gérard Courant is a French filmmaker, who, at least until 2011, held the distinction of directing the longest film ever made. Clocking in at 192 hours, and shot over 36 years (1978-2006), Cinématon consisted of “a series of over 2,880 silent vignettes (cinématons), each 3 minutes and 25 seconds long, of various celebrities, artists, journalists and friends of the director, each doing whatever they want for the allotted time.” Ken Loach, Wim Wenders, Terry Gilliam, Julie Delpy all made appearances. And so too did Jean-Luc Godard.

The number of people killed by police so far this year topped 500 this week as the nationwide epidemic of police violence continued, with cops killing 20 people over the past seven days alone.

Russia Gets Very Serious on “De-dollarizing”.

The Russia-China “Silk Road” Strategy By F. William Engdahl

Russia is about to take another major step towards liberating the Ruble from the Dollar System. Its Finance Ministry just revealed it is considering issuing Russian state debt in Chinese Yuan. That would be an elegant way to decouple from the dependence and blackmail pressures from the US Treasury financial terrorism operations while at the same time strengthening the bonds between China and Russia–Washington’s worst geopolitical nightmare.
